Simon Bartold

Simon Bartold is a highly regarded podiatrist and sports medicine expert with over 30 years of experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Adelaide University and a Podiatry degree (with honours) from the University of South Australia. He has earned multiple fellowships in sports podiatry and biomechanics and is the only podiatrist to hold a commission with the International Sports Medicine Federation.
Simon has worked with elite sports teams including the Australian Institute of Sport Cricket Academy, the Indian Cricket Team, and Port Adelaide Power, and was part of the medical team at four Olympic Games. He has won multiple awards for clinical research, including the prestigious Richard O Schuster Award from the American Podiatric Medical Association.
He served as International Research and Design Consultant for ASICS for over 15 years, creating iconic shoes like the GEL Kayano and Lethal football boots. He later led road running innovation at Salomon in France, building successful shoe lines like Sonic and Predict.
Simon has published over 30 research papers, contributed to leading journals, and lectured in 42 countries. Now based in Adelaide, he continues to be a globally respected voice in sports podiatry and athletic footwear innovation.
