Andy Bryant

Presentation Topic: What are barefoot shoes today? How can barefoot shoes, play and balance help with rehabilitation outcomes for your clients.

Andy is a podiatrist with 25 years of private practice experience. Over the past 9 years he has developed a practice that fully embraces the biopsychosocial model while also having a strong mobility and strength rehabilitation focus. This means getting feet moving and getting them stronger rather than traditional podiatry models of more shoe and more support. Critical to this approach is habitual changes to footwear and lifestyle. Empowering clients with knowledge and the tools to self manage is true health care.

His own journey through elite running and cycling and then through yoga, gym training and exploring natural movement has helped shape the approach he has with clients of all walks of life.

Andy now continues to consult privately out of his own clinic in metro Melbourne and is a consultant and educator for the global foot health education group, The Foot Collective. He often has input into barefoot shoe designs in what is a fast growing industry and can be heard on many and various podcasts from all over the world talking about natural foot function, barefoot shoes and foot rehabilitation principles.
